Green-Up Day

Green-Up Day is traditionally the first Saturday in May but this year the Grafton Improvement Association (GIA) will be organizing Green-Up Day on Sunday, May 5 from 9 – 1PM. This is to avoid any conflict with our beloved friend and neighbor, Stan Mack’s Memorial Service on Saturday, May 4 at 11AM.

Free Green-Up Day bags are available at Town Hall during April, so you can take advantage of balmy days during the month to do the trash collecting, or join in on Sunday morning.  Be part of the solution!  Join the rest of the community by pitching in to clean up Grafton.  It makes a huge difference for the environment in which we all live!

This annual call to get out and get trash will be particularly important this year as debris from the floods last summer still line streams and road ditches. Please touch base with your neighbors and coordinate pick-up along your street and nearest waterway.

Collected trash can be brought to Jamie Gregory Trucking & Excavating at 778 R. 121 East, across from the Grafton Fire House on SUNDAY, May 5 between 9 am and 1PM. GIA Board Members will be there to help you unload.

As a small token of our gratitude, everyone who brings trash in will have their name entered in a raffle for a $100 gift certificate to the Grafton Inn.  If you cannot bring the trash in on Sunday, we’ll come and pick it up.  Contact Margo Matt by Friday, May 3 at margomatt@vermontel.net or 610-565-6025 to schedule a pick up.

The GIA gives a special thanns to jamie Gregory for allowing it to again use his property and to The Windham Foundation for again donating the services of their dump truck.  Let’s work together to continue to make Grafton the beautiful town we are so proud of!  We hope to see you all on May 5th.

The event is finished.
